Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how hearts-game.online (“Hearts Online”, “we”, “us”, or “the Site”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you play the game or use related features.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Game and progress data: game starts and finishes, abandoned games, difficulty settings, opponent presets, scores, placement, rounds, tricks, play time, achievements, daily challenge results, and friend challenge results.
- Pseudonymous identifiers: anonymous visitor, session, player, game, and challenge identifiers used to keep statistics, achievements, sessions, and game progress connected.
- Account information: if account features are used, we process the username and password submitted for registration or login.
- Local settings: selected player name, avatar, difficulty, opponent settings, achievement status, anonymous player token, pending game results, and similar preferences stored in your browser.
- Technical and usage information: browser and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, referral information, page activity, timestamps, active or hidden tab status, and online/playing status. Web servers and third-party services may also process IP addresses as part of normal network operation and security logging.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide and operate the game;
- save settings, statistics, achievements, and challenge progress;
- measure game balance, completion rates, performance, and site usage;
- detect errors, abuse, fraud, or security problems;
- improve gameplay, artificial intelligence, user experience, and site content;
- display, measure, and improve advertising; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
3. Browser storage, cookies, and similar technologies
The Site uses browser local storage and may use cookies or similar technologies. Local storage helps remember your player settings, anonymous token, statistics, achievements, and challenge information.
Third-party services, including Google, may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies for analytics, fraud prevention, ad delivery, ad measurement, and—where you consent—personalized advertising.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics may process information such as page visits, engagement, device and browser details, approximate location, referral source, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.
More information is available in the Google Privacy Policy and in Google’s explanation of how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
5. Google AdSense and advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this Site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Where permitted and consented to, ads may be personalized. You can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Additional opt-out information may be available at aboutads.info.
6. Consent and privacy choices
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other regions where required, we use Google’s consent management platform to request and record choices for advertising, cookies, and related data processing. The available buttons and options may vary by country.
You may be able to reopen privacy choices through the “Privacy and cookie settings” link provided by Google on the Site. You can also clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings, although doing so may reset game settings, anonymous progress, or statistics stored on your device.
7. When information is shared
We do not sell personal information for money. Information may be processed or shared with:
- Google, for Analytics, AdSense, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, and consent management;
- hosting, infrastructure, and security providers that operate the Site and game server;
- service providers that help maintain or improve the Site; and
- authorities or other parties when required by law, necessary to protect rights or safety, or needed to investigate fraud or security incidents.
8. International data processing
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. These countries may have different data protection laws. Where required, providers use legal mechanisms intended to protect international transfers.
9. Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing statistics and achievements, maintaining security, resolving disputes, and meeting legal requirements. Retention periods may differ depending on the type of data. Browser-stored information remains until it expires, is replaced, or you clear it.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Because much of the Site uses anonymous or pseudonymous identifiers, we may need information from your browser or player token to locate a record. We may be unable to identify data that cannot reasonably be linked to you.
11. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the Site, legal requirements, or service providers change. The revised date at the top indicates when the latest version took effect.
